Duobond Prep-Clean 10ml glassprimer

Duobond Prep-Clean is an essential preparatory product within the Duobond windshield repair system. The product is applied before injecting Duobond UV resin and is designed to structurally improve repair quality, both technically and visually.

Duobond Prep-Clean thoroughly cleans the crack and removes contamination that can negatively affect the adhesion of the resin. In addition, the product has two important additional functions.

Due to its high vapor pressure, Prep-Clean encapsulates any remaining moisture in the crack and allows it to evaporate, creating a dry crack. This results in significantly better adhesion between glass, the PVB layer, and UV resin.

A second important benefit is the visual check of the crack's accessibility. When Duobond Prep-Clean is applied correctly, it becomes clearly visible whether the crack is fully accessible for the UV resin. In a properly accessible crack, the trapped air temporarily disappears, becoming visible as the disappearance of black lines or dots. This gives the technician confidence that the UV resin will later be able to fill all fine branches of the crack, preventing air entrapment and keeping the repair less visible. This also partly determines whether or not you will drill open or tap open the crack.

Duobond Prep-Clean use:

1. Apply a few drops of Duobond Prep-Clean to a clean, dry piece of white wiping paper.
2. Press this paper with Duobond Prep-Clean directly onto the crack.
3. Observe the behavior of the air in the crack via the mirror on the inside of the glass. Using a flashlight makes this check much easier.

By applying Duobond Prep-Clean, you lay the right foundation for a completely filled, strongly bonded, and durably curing repair.
